Getting Winnall Growing!
We are writing to inform you of some exciting news regarding curriculum enriching activities open to the pupils of Winnall Primary School. We will be producing our own vegetables this year thanks to a new community food garden we are building at the school.
We want the whole school to be involved in the project and to kick things off a selection of children from all year groups will be helping to build some raised beds in the school grounds on the 3rd March, with support from Osborne, contractors for Winchester City Council.
On Thursday, 12th March the school will be receiving a bulk load of soil to fill the raised beds and we need your help to shift the soil and get the beds filled on the day. If you have some time to spare on the 12th and would like to join us to make this project come to life please contact leave your name on the sign up sheet, by the front reception desk. If you’re not available on the 12th but would like to help with this project we’d also love to hear from you.
The Winnall Primary community food project is being developed with the help of local business Food Up Front and has received funding from County Councillor Fiona Mather.
We look forward to your support in helping the school make this project become a reality.
