Who are the Friends and What do they do?

The Friends of Winnall Primary School (FoWPS) are a group of parents who organise all the fundraising events for the school.  This includes the Christmas fayre, the Halloween disco, the Easter disco and the Summer fete.

This year the FoWPS have provided money towards one school trip per class.  This has meant parents/carers have only had to contribute small amounts.  Year R are visiting Longdown Activity Farm in July, year 1 and 2 are visiting Beaulieu at the beginning of July, year 3 and 4 went to The Sea City Museum in January and year 5 and 6 visited The Science Centre in February.

The FoWPS have this year bought every child in the school a book for World Book Day (March 2018), purchased a number of table tennis tables that have been well used in after school clubs (January 2018) and bought an Arbour Seat for the KS2 playground in the Spring.

  • We are always looking for new fundraising ideas
  • We will always welcome new Committee members - please contact the office if you are interested and your details can be passed on to our chairperson
  • We meet roughly once every half term to plan events and keep up to date
  • We also hold an AGM once a year to elect Committee members.
  • Most importantly, every single penny we raise through events is used for the benefit of the children.
